Ants

What They Are

Ants are one of the most common household pests in Louisiana. Because of our warm, humid climate, ants can be active year-round and often move indoors searching for food, water, or shelter. The most common species we see include fire ants, carpenter ants, odorous house ants, and Argentine ants, each with slightly different habits — but all capable of becoming a nuisance once they find a reliable food source

Where You’ll See Them

Ants are typically found in kitchens, bathrooms, pantries, around sinks, along baseboards, and anywhere crumbs or moisture are present. Outdoors, you may notice them around foundations, driveways, porches, and in the yard.

Why They’re a Problem

Once ants discover food, they leave scent trails that attract more ants — turning a few into a full-blown trail quickly. Fire ants can deliver painful stings, and carpenter ants may tunnel into damp or damaged wood. Store-bought sprays often only kill the ants you see while the colony stays active and continues to return.

How They Get Inside

Ants can enter through tiny cracks around windows, doors, foundations, plumbing lines, or utility openings. Even the smallest food crumbs or moisture sources can attract them indoors — especially in Louisiana’s heat.

How We Help

Our general pest control service targets both the ants you see and the colonies behind them. We use strategic treatments designed to help reduce activity, disrupt trails, and limit future infestations with ongoing preventative service.
